Two cars that look the same can take different parts. What we ask for, and why.
The worst call in the parts business starts with “it doesn’t fit.” Four things prevent it.
Send the VIN
The VIN is on the ownership and on the plate at the bottom of the windshield. It tells us the exact build of your car, including things that changed partway through a model year. A photo of it is fine.
Send the part number if you have it
Most parts carry a number stamped or printed on them. If your old part is off the car, take a photo of that number. A part number beats a description every time.
Say which side
Driver side or passenger side. Front or rear. It sounds obvious, and it is the thing people most often leave out.
Say what engine
The same model is often sold with two or three engines, and an alternator, starter or radiator for one won’t always fit another. The engine size is on the ownership too.
What happens next
We check the cars we have in the yard and come back with what fits and the price. You can also search our inventory on Car-Part.com, the listing recyclers across North America use, and then call us about what you found.
Pick up or delivery
Collect the part at the yard during our hours, Monday to Friday 8 to 5 and Saturday 8 to 3, or we deliver within 60 km.
The 30 days
Every used part we sell is covered for 30 days from the day you buy it. If it turns out to be defective, bring it back and you get the same part again or your money back. Labour isn’t covered, which is one more reason to get the right part the first time.
Before you fit it, hold it up against the old one: same number and the same connectors. Engines need fresh oil and coolant before the first start. Keep your receipt or the text where we confirmed the sale; that is what shows when your 30 days started.
