What decides your offer
We price each car on its own. These are the six things we look at.
- Year, make and model
- They tell us the weight, and weight sets most of the scrap value.
- Complete or stripped
- Engine, transmission, converter and wheels still on it? Tell us what's gone.
- Damage
- Collision, fire, flood and frame rust all change the number.
- Distance
- The closer the car is to our Clarington yard, the better the offer tends to be.
- Where it's parked
- An open driveway is a quicker job than a tight spot or a soft field.
- Metal prices
- We price against that week's scrap market, which moves.

About the yard
GTA Auto Recycling is a yard in Clarington. We’ve been buying scrap and junk cars here since 2017.
Being a local yard means the person you talk to on the phone is the person who works out your number. No call centre, no middleman.
Once a car reaches the yard, the fluids come out first, parts people need are pulled and checked, and the metal goes for recycling.

If you can drive or tow the car to us yourself, we add $50 to the number we give you.
- Call first. Tell us what you have and get your number. We’ll give you directions to the yard.
- Bring the car and the ownership during our hours: Monday to Friday 8 to 6, Saturday 9 to 2.
- Get paid at the yard. The $50 is added to your offer.
